Strata Geosciences is seeking to hire a Hydrogeologist or Environmental Scientist to work on a diverse range of projects and assist our team with both field and office tasks. Tasks will likely include borehole drilling observation, aquifer test supervision and analysis, compliance and investigative groundwater and soil sampling, groundwater and soil quality evaluations, investigation design, and general data collection, review, analysis, and reporting. You will work as a team and have opportunities to execute tasks independently. We will provide the appropriate training and mentorship to help you in your journey toward professional qualifications and licensure, and support you in developing your career in the best way that works best for your skills and aspirations.
If you have 1 to 3 years’ experience working in the water resources or environmental consulting industry and a M.S. in hydrogeology, geology, environmental science, or a related field, then this could be the ideal role for you. Preferred qualifications and experience for the ideal candidate include:
- Master of Science degree or highly qualified Bachelor of Science degree in hydrogeology, geology, environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field.
- Strong background or experience in hydrogeology and passed the GIT exam, or able to within 1 year.
- Ability to observe important details, to integrate observations into an overall understanding, and to communicate that information effectively.
- Self-initiation and eagerness to assist in field efforts, analysis, and reporting.
- Systematic and logical approach to problem solving.
- Experience in environmental fieldwork and field data collection.
- Experience in managing environmental data sets and preparing summary reports.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Strong organizational skills.
- A working vehicle and a valid driving license. Willingness to travel throughout Washington State.
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, the Puget Sound area.
